families playing bingo in the gym

Greenwood Elementary School is striving to increase the partnership between families, school, and community members. We are aiming to hold at least one event every month for students, teachers, families, and the community to connect with one another. If you have any ideas for future events please contact Amanda Schlough at amschlough@greenwood.k12.wi.us.

This year we have already hosted an open house evening, Grandparent’s Day read-in,  book character pumpkin decorating contest, and bingo and book drive night. Our next event is being held on Thursday, December 21st, where families are invited to join us at school for an afternoon of hot chocolate, cookies, and stories. The participation has been amazing so far, with an average of over 90 families participating in each event.

Bingo and book drive night was our most recent event with more than 80 attendees. We highlighted the importance of reading at home by offering an opportunity for community members to browse a large selection of donated books that they were able to take and keep at home free of charge. Families relaxed and enjoyed an evening of bingo, with many prizes given away to our winners! Several local businesses (Greenwood, Loyal, and Neillsville) provided extremely generous donations for prizes that were won throughout the evening.

Greenwood Elementary School staff and students appreciate all of the donations and support that allow us to continue and improve these amazing events.
