The 2021 Crystal Apple Program kicked off in September with students invited to fill out teacher nominations. A record number of Crystal Apple nominations were submitted this year, 1313, for 346 different educators. All teachers who were nominated were placed on a ballot in their respective schools for staff to vote on. After the votes were tabulated, the Greenwood Schools 2021 Crystal Apple Teachers of Distinction selected are Mr. Brad Helsten, Greenwood Middle-High School Mathematics Teacher and Mrs. Julie Plautz, Greenwood Elementary 1st grade teacher.
Mr. Helsten and Mrs. Plautz are two of the 25 Teachers of Distinction in the Marshfield area honored on Wednesday, November 11th. They will meet virtually with the Crystal Apple selection committee during the next step of the Crystal Apple Teacher of the Year process.
The four Crystal Apple Teachers of the Year will be announced on March 2, 2021, and all Teachers of Distinction will be honored at the Crystal Apple Awards banquet on May 5, 2021.
