The School District of Greenwood School Counseling program is based on the national American School Counseling Association (ASCA) standards and the new Wisconsin Comprehensive School Counseling Model (WCSCM), integrating academic, career and personal and/or social development. The school counseling program reflects the progression of student development from Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12. It is delivered through the direct service program components of:
- Guidance Curriculum
- Individual Planning
- Responsive Services
- System Support
The program is systematic, sequential, clearly defined, and accountable. Certified school counselors develop, implement, and assess all program components through collaboration with teachers, parents/guardians, administrators, students, and community/businesses. Curriculum delivery is a collaborative effort of all school staff. The counseling program helps ensure equal opportunity for all students to participate fully in the educational process.

Scholarship opportunities are available to students in a number of different ways. Scholarships are available through the college or university a student plans to attend the fall following their graduation from high school. Each college and university has a number of scholarship opportunities available to incoming freshman. This information is accessed through the financial aid office at the respective college or university your student plans to attend. Contact the financial aid office via the university website or by phone call to find out how to access those scholarship opportunities. Some universities/colleges require separate applications for scholarships while other universities/colleges require only the college application as the application for scholarships.
There may be scholarship opportunities for your child through your banks, credit unions, places of employment or other national scholarship websites or companies. There are a number of search engines and websites for scholarships; such as www.fastweb.com, www.collegeboard.org, www.knowhow2gowisconsin.org, and SchoolSoup.
Greenwood School District will provide senior students with scholarship information their senior year. A list of scholarship opportunities will be created and updated throughout the school year. This list will include local scholarships only available to Greenwood High School students, general scholarships that are received through the mail and email that are available to many other high school seniors in the country and scholarship opportunities available through the state of Wisconsin to students identified as meeting certain criteria and deadlines. This scholarship list will be posted to the website and distributed to seniors at the School District of Greenwood.
