School District of Greenwood Annual Wellness Policy Notice

The School District of Greenwood promotes the health and well-being of its students and staff by supporting an atmosphere of good nutrition and physical activity. The School District of Greenwood recognizes that proper nutrition and physical activity contribute to a student’s physical well-being and readiness to learn.

School districts participating in federally subsidized child nutrition programs (e.g., National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program and After-School Snack Program) were required to establish local school wellness polices by the beginning of the 2006-207 school year. The policy was formally adopted by the Board of Education in May 2006. It will be the responsibility of the District Wellness Committee to review the Wellness Policy before the end of each school year to evaluate the effectiveness of the policy. Every three years the Wellness Committee will review the policy and present recommendations for revisions to the Board of Education.
